Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? Do you feel stuck in a rut and like you can't get out? Maybe it's time to tear the roof off.
In this episode of The Babbler, Marshall Wall takes a fresh look at one of the most powerful stories in the Gospel of Mark: the man who was “sick of the palsy” and the four friends who refused to let anything stop them from getting him to Jesus.
But what if “sick of the palsy” isn't just a description of the man's physical condition?

Sometimes you have to change your routine.
Sometimes you have to press through an obstacle.
Sometimes you need the right people around you.
And sometimes you simply have to make up your mind:
“I am not going to remain the same.”

Get sick of the palsy. Tear the roof off. Press through the crowd. Get to Jesus.
And remember, our effort isn't what earns God's favor. We don't manipulate God into blessing us through religious activity. The man ultimately received healing and forgiveness because he encountered a loving and gracious Savior.
You may feel stuck today, but you don't have to stay there.
Something can change. And you can start today.

Psalm 23 is one of the most comforting passages in the Bible. But what if we’ve been missing the challenge hidden inside it?
In this short episode of The Babbler, Marshall Wall takes a deeper look at Psalm 23 and explores what David really means when he says, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.”
Psalm 23 isn't just a promise that God will make our problems disappear. It's also an instruction: keep walking.
Even in the darkest valley, God is with us. His rod and His staff comfort us, guide us, and sometimes correct us. And when we reach the table He has prepared, we discover something surprising: the table is prepared “in the presence of mine enemies.”
The blessing doesn't mean there will be no opposition.
The promise isn't that there won't be a valley.
The encouragement is that God is with you while you walk through it.
Maybe you're hurting. Maybe you've spent countless nights crying. Maybe you're fighting the same sin over and over. Maybe you're dealing with anxiety, rejection, loneliness, disappointment, or a trial that seems like it will never end.
Don't stop walking.
God is preparing something while you're walking.

The strongest outreach often happens in the places most people avoid.
