Are we making Christianity more complicated than it needs to be?

Paul warned the church in Colossians 2:8 to beware lest anyone “spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit” and lead you away from Christ. The answer isn't another program, another clever idea, or another religious tradition. The answer is Jesus.

Preach Jesus. Preach the Gospel. Preach the death, burial, and resurrection.

Church programs can be valuable. Outreach programs can be useful. Commentaries and study resources can help us grow. But none of those things can save us. They are vehicles and tools. Jesus Christ is the Savior.

We are sinners.
Jesus Christ came in the flesh.

He died for our sins.
He was buried.
He rose again.
He conquered death, hell, and the grave.
And He has called us to be His witnesses.

There is a simplicity in Christ. Don't let anything distract you from it.

“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him.”
Colossians 2:9-10

Get in the Word. Keep Jesus at the center. And preach Jesus.
